Description

Ages: 18-Adult: Are you looking to get more out of your performance experience? Join us for UMS 101! This 90-minute workshop focuses on an upcoming UMS performance. Facilitated by professional, community-based practicing artists/educators, UMS 101 workshops offer background and contextual learning, live demonstrations, and participatory activities in a fun, casual environment. Each workshop is tailored with audience members in mind and is ideal for individuals seeking to familiarize themselves with or deepen their understanding of the presented art genre and performing artist. All UMS 101 workshops take place at Cahoots in Downtown Ann Arbor located at 206 E. Huron Street. All corresponding performances take place at Hill Auditorium located at 825 N. University. See ‘Notes’ below for more details. Scholarship recipients receive a $10 discount and seniors a $4 discount. Instructor: UMS Staff. 1 class.

Explore the world of the mariachi art song and learn about the history, traditions, and interpretations of artists in traditional Mexican and Latin American music.
