Line + Movement: Drawing Representations and Experimental Art

You can’t build a house without a foundation and drawing gives young artists the necessary tools to create across mediums! Students will explore line and movement in all their projects as they learn both traditional and experimental drawing techniques. Students will use many different materials and mark-making instruments to depict what they see, how they feel, and what is in their imagination. Through collaborative and independent projects, students will take inspiration from artists around the world including Käthe Kollwitz and Vincent Van Gogh in addition to notable AAC alum Jim Flora.

If your child is 8 years old, please consider if they would be more comfortable in the older class with 9-12-year-olds before registering, as exceptions are sometimes made for ages on the cusp of each class.
