Description
Join us for a bike tour of the City's ocean protection initiatives along the Marvin Braude Bike Trail!
Learn about the Dune Restoration Project, the 28th Street Infiltration Project, and how the City works to prevent trash and litter from entering our ocean. The bike tour will begin at 10am at the Manhattan Beach Pier and is expected to end around 11am at the Manhattan Beach Library to kick off the Earth Day Celebration event.
This event is BYOB - Bring Your Own Bike! E-bikes are welcome. Registration is required for all attendees, even those under 18 years of age.
Please bring a helmet and water, wear closed toed shoes, and follow all instructions from City staff and our Bike Patrol Police Officers. In accordance with California Code VEH § 312.5 and 21212, all participants under 18 years of age and those riding a Class 3 e-bike (e-bikes that go up to 28 mph) of all ages MUST wear a helmet. Participants under 18 and participants of all ages with a Class 3 e-bike without a helmet will not be permitted to attend the event. The City DOES NOT have helmets to provide.
*While most of the bike tour will take place along the relatively flat bike trail, please note a small portion of the tour will require biking uphill from Ocean Dr. to Highland Ave on 14th St.
Please contact Britny Coker-Moen, Environmental Programs Administrator, via email at bcoker-moen@manhattanbeach.gov or phone at (310) 802-5508 with any questions.
