Veterinary Assistant Training

This non-credit program is offered through NEIU's Office of Community and Professional Education, in partnership with MK Education. This training provides 90 hours of instruction in veterinary assistant practices and 60 hours in hands-on externship experience. This program prepares candidates to work in veterinary clinics, animal hospitals, in animal control and for pet adoption facilities.

The program runs from February 7, 2017 through June 8, 2017. The components of the program include class meetings February 7 through April 25 on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00 p.m. to 9:45 p.m. at NEIU's El Centro campus at 3390 N. Avondale Ave. in Chicago.

In addition, this program has an externship, (temporary training program in a workplace), that takes place April 26, 2017 through May 31, 2017. The exact dates and times of the externship are determined by the student and the externship site. The Final Review for this program takes place on June 1, 2017. The Final Exam takes place on June 6, 2017 and Graduation on June 8, 2017. These are also Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-9:45 p.m.)
