Kids Team Dance Clinic and Performance
for Boys and girls grades 2nd through 6th (ages 7-12)
Free! Must Register by noon on Wednesday, September 13
A team dance clinic held at Northeastern Illinois University. Participants will learn fun, innovative dance moves as well as an age/ level appropriate routine they will perform during the Golden Eagles Family Picnic on Saturday, September 16, 2017.
Participants will also receive a T-shirt to wear for the performance. You must attend the clinic on Friday to be in the performance on Saturday.
Friday, September 15, 2017: 4:00pm to 7:00pm (clinic to learn the dance)
Saturday, September 16, 2017: 12 pm to 1:30 pm (warm-up, review the dance, and perform at the picnic)
Location: Northeastern Illinois University (NEIU)
The clinic will be held in the auxiliary gym of the physical education (PE) building on Friday. The performance will happen in the student commons area (outside), near the student center on Saturday.
No experience necessary. We will teach you all you need to know when you get here.
On Friday, please wear practice clothes such as shorts, sweats, leotards, tank tops, jazz pants, etc. You may wear tennis shoes or jazz shoes. Bring water to stay hydrated. A small snack will be provided.
On Saturday please wear the NEIU shirt provided with registration and solid black leggings with tennis shoes or jazz shoes (you must have shoes on for safety and liability).

Instructor Kimberly Maljak
Kimberly grew up in Michigan and began dancing at age 4 and continued dancing competitively through high school and college. She was a member of the Oakland University (OU) dance team where she received a Bachelor?s degree in Performing Arts with a dance major and French minor. She received a teaching certification in dance, health, and physical education (PE) from Wayne State University (WSU) and then taught all three areas in K-12 schools for 7 years. Kimberly has a Master?s degree in Kinesiology Pedagogy with a PE focus from WSU. She danced professionally for six years for the National Basketball Association (NBA) Detroit Pistons Dance Team Automotion and worked with the Women?s National Basketball Association (WNBA), Arena Football League (AFL), and NBA for 15 years as a dance judge, choreographer, and ambassador. Kimberly received her PhD from WSU in Kinesiology with a PE focus in order to teach at the collegiate level and is currently a professor at NEIU.
