Description

Established in 1980, the Montgomery County Agricultural (Ag) Reserve encompasses 93,000 acres and is home to more than 500 farms. Forty years later it is both an effective land conservation strategy and a significant tourist destination. Urban Planner Claudia Kousoulas and Event Planner Ellen Letourneau are co-authors of “Bread & Beauty: A Year in Montgomery County’s Agricultural Reserve.” They’ll be joined by Chef Carolyn Crow for an oline discussion of the Ag Reserve accompanied by a cooking demonstration highlighting the summer bounty that can be found there.

HOW TO PREPARE FOR YOUR VIRTUAL CLASS:

All class recipes, ingredient lists, and prep instructions will be sent via email before your class.

Each class is a password-protected Zoom session. Please download Zoom at www.zoom.us and familiarize yourself with it in advance of the class.

You'll receive an email with a session ID and password 60 minutes prior to your scheduled class time.

Please login to the class session prior to the start time—late attendees may not be admitted!

Please be sure your display name on Zoom matches the name of the person registered to attend. Only one device per name will be admitted and names that are not on the class roster will not be admitted.

The class fee is per device (phone, laptop, tablet) so you can have as many cooks in the kitchen as you like!

Recipes taught in class may vary slightly from those listed in the class description.

Please be advised this class does have a minimum number of students that must be registered for the class to move forward. If the minimum is not met by 3:00 p.m. the day before the class, it will be cancelled and your registration fee will be refunded. Please encourage friends and family to join!

No refunds will be granted for Let’s Cook@Casey programs. A one-time registration transfer is available to a Let’s Cook@Casey class of equal value if the exchange request is submitted in writing to LetsCook@gaithersburgmd.gov no less than 48 hours before the scheduled program time.
