Description

In honor of Women's History Month, come join Tracy Gee staff as we watch How It Feels To Be Free, a documentary that tells the inspiring story of how six iconic African American women entertainers - Lena Horne, Abbey Lincoln, Nina Simone, Diahann Carroll, Cicely Tyson and Pam Grier - challenged an entertainment industry deeply complicit in perpetuating racist stereotypes, and transformed themselves and their audiences in the process. After the documentary, we will have a group discussion in which we learn from one another and discuss women's rights, intersectional feminism, and current events.

Thank you for being an active member of your community and of Tracy Gee Community Center. We’re always looking for better ways to serve the people of Harris County Precinct 4, so we’re excited to announce that we will soon begin a construction and renovation project for the Tracy Gee Community Center. The building is due for a change – it hasn’t been renovated in nearly 30 years. We’re taking community input at every step of the process, and we need to hear from you. Please take our survey.
