Description

El Rio Riparian Preserve Nature Walk

Hosted By: Janine Spencer, Environmental Project Manager

El Rio Preserve is a riparian area that is one of the top ten birding sites in the Tucson region. It is also an important wildlife linkage. We'll walk the dirt road, along the southern border of the property, as well as a portion of the Loop Trail, for a length of about 1 / 1 ½ miles.
(This section of the Loop Trail was extended from Continental Ranch to Avra Valley Road in June of this year.) We will look for birds and talk about the natural history of the area. There is an important archaeological site that we will also take a look at. Please bring water, sunscreen, a hat, and wear boots. Bring binoculars if you have them.

Location: Meet at the Loop Trail parking lot on Coachline Blvd., just east of N. Turquoise Moon Way.

**Meet at the Ramada just North of the parking lot**
