Mira Costa Model UN is recognized locally, nationally, and internationally as one of the premiere Model UN programs. This is thanks to our hard-working students, dedicated advisors, and support from families like YOU! Similar to sports and performing arts at Costa, Model UN is responsible for its individual program costs. Therefore, we rely on family donations for the continued success of our program.
Model UN is a year-round program. Students participate in a minimum of two local conference tournaments per semester. The recommended donation or "Ask" this year is $425 per student (this includes a processing fee of 4.84%). Your donation covers the delegate fees for the two required conferences per semester (4 per year), advisor stipends for both the Fall & Spring semesters, student research materials and online subscriptions, and activities like Sophomore Welcome Day, the End of Year Banquet, and Parent Mixer, among other things.
If your family can donate more, please do! We enjoy the opportunity to provide scholarships to help cover conference costs to students who need them.
