Sites Seldom Seen: Seed Processing Facility

The Conservation District collects local seed from native plants every fall in order to restore and enrich prairie, wetland, and savanna areas throughout the County. In 2023, Conservation District staff and volunteers harvested over 4,000 lbs of native seed by mechanical and/or hand collection. Join Conservation District ecologists to learn what happens to the seed next. You will be sent the specific address for the location the week of the program. It is adjacent to the Pleasant Valley Conservation Area.
