Description

Search in the dark for these nocturnal wonders of the sky - owls! Learn all about the role owls play in the ecosystem, how to identify owl calls, and make your own to attract them. The program will begin with a brief lecture-style introduction on owls while the remaining portion will be on our trails. No walk-ins accepted. Pre-registration required (for adult and child alike).

Notes

Come prepared to hike approximately 2-3 miles on uneven terrain. Please wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes and dress appropriately for the weather. Please bring your own water bottle. Dress in layers.

Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation follows all CDC guidelines and Governor’s orders. Participants are expected to wear a mask indoors at all times and outdoors only when participants are less than 6’ apart. At that time, we will ask everyone to wear a mask. If you cannot, you will be asked to stand more than 6’ away for everyone’s protection.
