Early Morning Eye Opener: PE & Rec Adventures

Kickstart your mornings with PE & Rec Adventures, a dynamic and engaging program where youth explore a variety of sports, arts, and recreational activities. Each week, participants will receive specialized instruction in a new activity, from archery to art, basketball, and even cooking!

The program begins at Demuth Community Center, where participants will then travel via van to Camp Palm Springs. City staff will escort them to their next destination, ensuring a safe and seamless transition.

Program Dates: June 20 – August 4

Location: Demuth Community Center & Camp Palm Springs

Time: Early morning sessions 7:45 a.m. -8:45 a.m.

Week 1: Cirque de Aqua

Water balloon hot potato, Water balloon baseball, Rainbow water xylophone, Water walking Project, Overhead water bucket race

Week 2: Kaleidoscope of Culture

Multicultural Decorations for the center, Building their own family tree, Flags of the world matching game, DIY Earth map group project, DIY Pretend passport.

Week 3: Kick’in it at Camp

Archery w Janice , Red light, green light, Potato sack race, HORSE basketball game, Capture the flag ,Dodgeball, Indoor soccer

Week 4: Eco Week

Explore the water cycle, DIY Aquarium, Nature Scavenger hunt ,DIY terrarium, DIY ants on a log (food activity), Turn leaves into art

Week 5: Adventure Awaits!

Tiktok dances, Picnic in the park, Outdoor yoga , Glowing camp fire Glowing Campfire Craft for Kids - Buggy and Buddy, Indoor s’mores

Week 6: CommUNITY week

Build care baskets for fire fighters, hospital workers, police officers ect., Letters to the elderly/army/navy ect.

Week 7: In it to Win it

Board games, 31, Life-size hungry hungry hippos, Heads up, Trivia

Week 8: Cooking week

No-Bake Monster cookie balls, Rice Krispy making, Yogurt Parfait , Crepe making, Pizza toast
