Description
This clinic will teach players the intricacies of being a complete defenseman. We will focus on stick skills, footwork and checking, communication, slide and recovery mechanics, defending the 2-man game and clearing. This clinic is designed to help to prepare players for their outdoor seasons.
Level of Instruction: Intermediate to advanced players
Skills/Fundamentals Learned: These coed sessions are designed to transform a player's:
- Footwork in order to run with offensive players
- Ability to play sound physical defense
- Understanding of offensive players
- Understanding of when and how to check
- Understanding of team defensive and clearing concepts
Contractor/Instructor: Camp staff is led by Patrick Chapla, Pack of Wolves Lacrosse (POWLAX) founder. He is the former head coach at Grandview High School and current Cherokee Trail Offensive Coordinator, combining for 12 years of high school and youth coaching experience. His team of coaches includes accomplished, former high school and college lacrosse players.
Equipment: Players must provide helmet, shoulder pads, arm pads, short stick, gloves, mouthpiece and cup (rib and bicep pads are encouraged).

- Bring only what you need and can keep with you. Locker rooms and lockers will not be available.
- Bring personal hand sanitizer and a sweat towel.
- Bring your own full water bottle and refrain from using the drinking fountains. Bottle fillers may not be available.
