Description
Old cemeteries can be viewed as spooky, sad places ; they can also be viewed as a fascinating peek into the history of those who walked this earth before us. The Routh Cemetery is older than the city of Richardson, its earliest burial taking place about 1850. It is the final resting place of many of the earliest settlers in the Richardson and Plano area, including the Routh and Campbell families. Many of the descendants of those buried in the cemetery have been very active as the Routh Cemetery Association in the upkeep and preservation of the cemetery. Join us as we visit the final resting places and hear about the stories of these early pioneers of our area.
This tour is part of the cities 150th anniversary celebration programs. Free tour geared for adults. Parking is available off Routh Creek Pkwy and behind the Reserve at Spring Creek Apartments.
