In this
weekly, 3-hour class, students will develop a dynamic, value-based approach
to drawing. Learn the secrets of shading and how you can use this knowledge
in your drawings from life or imagination. Push and pull value as you never
have before! Students will explore colored grounds, reductive value,
restrictive value, the connection between color and value, the use of
value to create deep space, and of course the use of value to depict
believable three dimensional form. This class is open to all skill levels,
whether you never thought it would be possible to effectively use value in
your drawings or you are already comfortable with value but
just want some added instruction. Please bring materials to class.
