Description

Discover glazing techniques and assist in firing
pots. Participants will be limited to firing up to five
pots that are already bisque-fired and no larger than
8” in any direction. Prior experience is helpful but
not necessary. Glazes will be provided. All levels.

**A half-face or full face respirator with fume cartridges is required to participate on firing date.**

Day 1 (3/7) - Add terra sigilata to bone dry work
Day 2 (3/21) - Glaze day
Day 3 (3/22) - Firing Day

Supplies needed: bisque fired pieces. Pieces made with Raku clay are preferable, as this will prevent cracking due to thermal shock. Raku clay is available for purchase at the front desk of the LCAC. Community glazes and tools will be provided. All levels.

On Fri Mar 7, students will add terra sigilata slip to their bone dry greenware pots, Fri Mar 21 participants will be glazing; on Sat Mar 22, participants will be firing their pieces.

Clothing Requirements: closed toe shoes and long pants.
