Celebrate National Honey Bee Day in collaboration with Illinois Extension!
Rain Date: Sunday, Aug. 20, 10am-12pm
Location: Meet at the UPDAC Learning Pavilion, outside the Anita Purves Nature Center (1505 N. Broadway Ave, Urbana); walks will venture into Busey Woods or Crystal Lake Park.
The Urbana Park District and the Carl R. Woese Institute for Genomic Biology at the University of Illinois are pleased to offer a series of free community programs this August. Each date will focus on a different type of pollinator and will feature four activities:
- Talk: Enjoy a presentation from local experts with information about local wildlife, what to look for, and how you can support their healthy coexistence with our community.
- Walk: Join a guided exploration of Busey Woods/Crystal Lake Park to see, hear, identify, and learn about local species.
- Snack: Enjoy complimentary snacks inspired by the diets and natural history of the featured animals.
- Craft: Participate in a craft project that you can take home to support our local wildlife populations.
