Essential Encaustic

If you are curious about encaustic painting, this class is for you. If you have taken a class and need a refresher, this class is for you too! In this class we will make our own 6"x6" artworks (more than one!) with encaustic medium and paints. We'll explore various ways to prep a board, how to adjust the opacity of the paints, various ways to add texture, digging in to reveal or fill, adding on, fusing for success and so much more. No experience is necessary — encaustic painting is very forgiving and flexible. And also loads of fun. All materials will be provided!

About Michele Messenger:

Michele Messenger is a passionate artist and instructor, actively involved in the vibrant arts community across Colorado and beyond. She is a member of the Art Students League of Denver and the Encaustic Art Institute in the Santa Fe, NM area. Michele is also a member of NKollectiv Gallery in Downtown Englewood, where she showcases her work alongside a talented collective of local artists.

In addition to her own creative practice, Michele shares her expertise by teaching encaustic art classes at Outside the Box Studio, EASEL, and the Art Students League of Denver. Her studio is located at EASEL— an art hub in Englewood, anchored by NKollectiv.
